Patna, November 13: The political heat in Bihar refuses to cool down even after polling has ended. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially extended the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Patna district till November 16, 2025, ensuring that post-election celebrations or protests don’t disrupt public order ahead of the much-awaited counting day on November 14. The order came directly from the District Administration of Patna, following security concerns surrounding the assembly election results.
The MCC, which was first enforced on October 6 when the election schedule was announced, restricts all political activities that may influence the electoral process. With the results around the corner, the administration has also banned all victory processions across the city to maintain peace and prevent any law-and-order situation from escalating.

As voting concluded across Bihar, anticipation and speculation have reached their peak. Exit polls from multiple national agencies, including India Today, Times Now, and ABP-CVoter, have predicted a comfortable win for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The surveys suggest that the ruling alliance could cross the majority mark with ease, signalling continued voter faith in the government’s performance over the last term.
Analysts point to key factors such as infrastructure development, welfare schemes, and rural outreach as major contributors to the NDA’s expected success. However, the Mahagathbandhan (MGB), led by Tejashwi Yadav, has strongly contested these findings, claiming that the real verdict will reveal a silent revolution in favour of change.
After exit poll results started flashing across TV screens, NDA leaders expressed confidence that their hard work had paid off. Union Minister Nityanand Rai said, The people of Bihar have once again shown trust in our leadership and development-oriented governance.
In sharp contrast, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav dismissed the predictions, stating that exit polls are not the final polls. He maintained that the youth, farmers, and unemployed population have voted for change, not continuity, and that the actual counting will prove the difference.
