- Currently, Kiccha Sudeep's Bigg Boss Kannada 12 is entertaining viewers on the OTT platform Jio Hotstar. The season premiered on September 28th and is now on the verge of closure. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has issued a notice to close the Bigg Boss Kannada set, citing violations of environmental standards.
- This notice relates to the Bigg Boss Kannada 12 shooting location, located in Bidadi Hobli on the outskirts of Bengaluru, and the set has been constructed at Jolly Wood Studios and Adventure. The board believes that excessive water is being wasted on the set, causing inconvenience to outsiders.
- According to NDTV, KSPCB Chairman Narendra Swami stated, "A large amount of water from the set is being discharged outside the site, which is a threat to the environment." The show's production team had claimed to have installed a 250 KLD sewage treatment plant.
- However, an inspection of the site revealed a lack of internal drainage connections, resulting in open discharge. Furthermore, two diesel generator (DG) sets, each with a capacity of 625 kV and 500 kVA, were found on the site, raising further environmental concerns.
Awaiting a response from the show's team: The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board is now awaiting a response from the show's production team regarding the notice issued to the Bigg Boss Kannada 12 set, which has become a major problem for the ongoing reality show.
