The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2026 has officially kicked off with Round 1, marking the first major open tournament of the year for aspiring esports teams across India. With a massive ₹4 crore prize pool at stake, the competition promises intense action as both amateur squads and professional veterans battle for glory.
This year’s BGIS launch is historic not just for its scale but also for its enhanced security measures. Krafton has introduced the PlayShield Anti-Cheat App, a dedicated tool designed to ensure fair play and eliminate cheating from competitive matches.
PlayShield Anti-Cheat App: A Major Step Towards Fair Competition
To maintain competitive integrity, Krafton has made the PlayShield Anti-Cheat App mandatory for all participants. Unlike traditional server-side anti-cheat systems, PlayShield works as a standalone application that monitors player devices in real time.
Key Requirements for Players
- Mandatory Usage: Players must keep the PlayShield app running in the background during official matches.
- Strict Enforcement: Any attempt to disable, bypass, or manipulate the app will lead to immediate disqualification.
- Severe Penalties: Players caught violating rules may face long-term bans from Krafton-organized tournaments.
The app is designed to detect third-party plugins, scripts, and hardware-based cheats, addressing long-standing concerns about unfair advantages in competitive BGMI.
