Today, when we comfortably sit in an airplane and travel from one corner of the country to the other in just a few hours...

Have you ever wondered when an airplane first flew in India?

The first official flight in India took place on February 18, 1911; its story is incredibly thrilling and filled with pride.

This was not merely a flight, but also India's first airmail service.

This aircraft was flown by French pilot Henri Pequet; the journey covered a total distance of 10 kilometers.

It is considered particularly significant primarily because it is regarded as Asia's first official airmail flight.

It laid the foundation for the introduction of airmail service in India.

In 1911, this brief flight paved the way for the aviation sector in India, and thus began this journey.

Approximately 6,500 letters were delivered from Allahabad to Naini using this aircraft.
