Cricket is a popular sport worldwide, including in India.
In this sport, the weight of the ball is based on ICC regulations, depending on the format of the game.
The weight of the ball used in men's international cricket must be between 155.9 grams and 163 grams.
If measured in ounces, a men's cricket ball weighs between 5.5 and 5.75 ounces.
In women's cricket, the ball is slightly lighter than in men's cricket, weighing between 140 and 151 grams.
When it comes to junior-level cricket, the weight of the ball is kept even lower for children—approximately between 133 and 144 grams.
In Test cricket, the standard weight of the red ball used in Test matches also ranges between 155.9 and 163 grams.
The weight of the white and pink balls used in ODI and T20 matches is also kept equal to that of the red ball.
Under ICC Rule 4, any form of tampering with the weight and dimensions of a cricket ball is prohibited.
