The teenage batting sensation will captain Bihar in the opening two matches of the 2026 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Suraj Kashyap has been appointed vice-captain, supporting Sooryavanshi as Bihar prepares for the domestic T20 competition.
Bihar will face Saurashtra on November 14 and Railways on November 16 in Indore, with Sooryavanshi leading the side.
After Bihar's opening two matches, Sooryavanshi is expected to join India A for the Men's Rising Stars Asia Cup.
