Chamari Athapaththu created new history in women cricket

Captain Chamari Athapaththu created a new history in ODI cricket by playing an unbeaten inning of 195 runs against South Africa (SAW vs SLW) against Sri Lanka women's cricket team. She became the first Sri Lankan female cricketer to score the team's highest individual score. Apart from this, she became the third highest individual run scorer in women's ODI cricket. Chamari Atapattu destroyed the record of Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma.

The last match of the three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka women's team and South Africa women's team was played on 17 April. Sri Lanka won the match played on Wednesday by 6 wickets and leveled the ODI series 1-1. Batting first, South Africa scored 302 runs with the help of Laura Woolward's unbeaten 184 runs. The captain of the Sri Lankan team achieved this target by playing a historic innings.

Chamari Atapattu played an unbeaten inning of 195 runs in 139 balls against South Africa. During this, Chamari hit 26 fours and 5 sixes.
