Actress Sagarika Ghatge married former cricketer Zaheer Khan in 2017. This was an interfaith marriage of both.
Sagarika and Zaheer have been married for nearly 8 years. But even today their relationship is unbreakable. Recently, the couple talked about their marriage in a podcast of Harbhajan Singh and Geeta B
Zaheer said that he knew Sagarika before dating him. Zaheer said - I knew Sagarika for a long time, but I did not know about her personally. We had many common friends.
But whenever Sagarika's name came up, I was always warned that if you date Sagarika, you would have to be serious. All his friends used to say the same to me.
Zaheer also said that he had proposed to Sagarika during the IPL in Goa. Sagarika said that she did not want to marry a cricketer or actor earlier. But after meeting Zaheer, his thinking had changed.
Harbhajan Singh praised Zaheer Khan and said that they respect each other's religion. He said that Zaheer lights a lamp first during the Ganpati festival.
In this regard, Zaheer said — My parents have taught me to respect all religions. You should do what makes you happy. Don't worry about what people are saying.
Zaheer also said that when he first met Sagarika's parents, he had proposed to marry Sagarika.
Zaheer said - I had to go officially and meet Sagarika's father. Sagarika scared me a lot. But the meeting was very good. We had planned a half-hour meeting, but we were only talking for 2 hours.
Sagarika further said — I grew up worshipping Diwali Puja and Gudi Padwa, because I have always seen my mother do this, so I have continued it.
Zaheer has a lot of respect for this. The truth is that he participates in all these things more than me.
