Who is Mithun Manhas? India New BCCI President Explained

Mithun Manhas is set to become the new president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He is set to be elected unopposed at the Annual General Meeting on September 28.

Manhas will replace former India cricketer Roger Binny, who stepped down after turning 70.

45-year-old Mithun Manhas scored a lot of runs in domestic cricket, although he never got a chance to play for India.

Manhas was born on October 12, 1979, in Jammu. He represented Delhi in domestic cricket for many years (1998-2015). He also played for Jammu and Kashmir from 2015-17.

Mithun Manhas played 157 first-class matches, 130 List A matches, and 91 T20 matches. In first-class matches, Manhas scored 9714 runs at an average of 45.82, including 27 centuries and 49 half-centuri

In List A cricket, Manhas has scored 4126 runs at an average of 45.84, including five centuries and 26 half-centuries.

A right-handed batsman, Manhas scored 1,170 runs in T20 cricket at an average of 21.66. He also took 70 wickets in his career.

Manhas has represented the Delhi Capitals, Pune Warriors India, and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Manhas has scored 514 runs in 55 IPL matches at an average of 22.34.

Manhas later pursued a career in coaching. In February 2017, Manhas became the assistant coach of the Punjab Kings. Subsequently, in October 2017, Manhas was appointed batting consultant for the Bangl

Manhas then became the assistant coach of the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2019 IPL season. In 2022, Manhas was appointed assistant coach of the Gujarat Titans.
