Apple has set a new record in India, leaving other mobile companies far behind.
In 2025, the iPhone 16 was the best-selling smartphone in India.
According to data from Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 16 has sold the most units in India over the past 11 months, totaling 6.5 million (approximately 65 lakh) units.
The iPhone 16 was launched in India and global markets approximately 15 months ago. Despite this, it remains the best-selling smartphone in India.
Vivo is in second place, with its Vivo Y29 5G model selling a total of 4.7 million units. This information is also based on Counterpoint Research data.
According to experts, the offers and no-cost EMI options available on the iPhone 16 have also benefited the brand.
The iPhone 16 features a dual rear camera setup. It has a 48MP rear primary camera and a 12MP selfie camera.
The iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 1179 x 2556 pixels. Ceramic Shield is used for screen protection.
The iPhone 16 uses the Apple A18 (3 nm) chipset, which comes with an Apple GPU. This handset also supports the latest iOS 26.2.
The iPhone 16 supports both wired and wireless charging. The company has also included MagSafe support.
