Later, when “Thugs of Hindostan” was released, the film could not perform as expected at the box office and it received a mixed reaction from the audience.
The reason for Mrinal's refusal of the film was explained that the actress had a deal with Yash Raj Films. She had signed contracts for three films with YRF at that time.
