Jaiswal has firmly established himself at the top of the order. After a century in the 2024–25 Australia tour, he’s now eyeing a strong England outing—his third SENA tour.
KL Rahul, known for his versatility, is expected to open. Promoted in Australia, he scored two gritty fifties. As an opener, he has 2803 runs at 35.03 (7 tons, 14 fifties).
Sai Sudharsan is likely to debut at number three. The in-form southpaw averages 39.93 in First-Class cricket with 7 hundreds.
Shubman Gill, usually a top-order batter, is set to take over Kohli’s role at No. 4. With 1893 runs in 32 Tests at 35.05, he has promise.
Karun Nair returns after eight years, fresh off a dream Ranji season—863 runs at 53.93 with 4 centuries. With over 8200 First-Class runs, Nair brings experience and hunger.
Rishabh Pant is a proven match-winner, especially overseas. In SENA, he has 1681 runs at 37+ (4 hundreds), while overall he boasts 2948 runs at 42.11.
All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy impressed in Australia with 298 runs at 37.25 and a century at the MCG. He also took 5 wickets. This will be his second tour.
Ravindra Jadeja’s experience makes him a preferred choice over Sundar. He has 642 runs in England at 29.18 and 1067 in SENA at 28.83.
Mohammed Siraj has 100 Test wickets at 30.74, with 68 of them in SENA at 30.57. He’ll need to step up as lead pacer when Bumrah is rested.
Jasprit Bumrah is India’s pace spearhead. With 205 wickets at 19.40, including 145 in SENA at 21.02, he’s a proven match-winner.
Prasidh Krishna, with 8 wickets in 3 Tests, impressed in Australia with 6 wickets in one game. If he clicks, Arshdeep Singh could rotate in for Bumrah.
