Temba Bavuma will not lead the South African team in the second Test against India in the new year.
The head coach said that Dean Elgar will lead South Africa in the second Test match also. Dean Elgar played a match-winning inning of 185 runs in the first innings of South Africa in the first Test match. He will play his last Test match in Cape Town.
Coach Shukri said, Bavuma has been diagnosed with a strain on his left foot, not a concussion. The injury will be assessed in two weeks' time to determine his availability for his next assignment with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20. He will not play Test for South Africa at present.
Let us tell you that in the first test match, South Africa defeated India by an innings and 32 runs. KL Rahul batted well in the first innings and Kohli batted well in the second innings. India and South Africa will face each other in the second Test in Cape Town from January 3.
