The 2026/27 season brings key rule changes inspired by the FIFA World Cup.

1. Injured Players Face New Rule

Injured players receiving treatment must now stay off for one minute after restart.

2. New Goalkeeper Timeout Rule

Coaches must send an outfield player off for one minute after a goalkeeper injury.

3. Five-Second Throw-In & Goal-Kick Rule

Teams now have five seconds for throw-ins and goal-kicks or face a penalty.

4. New 10-Second Substitution Rule

Substituted players must leave within 10 seconds or wait for the next stoppage.

5. VAR Can Review Second Yellows

VAR can now review second-yellow decisions that lead to a red card if needed.
