To make Moong Dal Halwa, first keep ready 1 cup ground flour, 2 cups milk, 3/4 cup sugar, 4 tablespoons ghee, 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder, cashew nuts and almonds for garnishing.
Fry the ground mung beans in ghee over medium heat until lightly golden brown. Stir constantly to prevent burning.
Now slowly pour the milk into the roasted lentils. Stir constantly over low heat to prevent lumps from forming. Cook until the lentils are soft and thick.
When the lentil and milk mixture thickens, add the sugar. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes. The pudding should be thick and creamy.
Add cardamom powder to enhance the aroma of the halwa. If needed, add a little more ghee to make the halwa shiny.
Garnish the pudding with cashews and almonds. Serve hot and enjoy with your family.
