Mac and Cheese is a popular name for Macaroni and Cheese, a delicious dish that is widely eaten over time with addition of other ingredients for variation.
The dish is said to have its roots in a 14th century Italian cookbook Liber e Coquina, but has since become popular across the world, including the USA.
It became popular in the US after President Thomas Jefferson and his chef James Hemings found a similar creation in Europe to start serving it at state dinners.
The mac and cheese has also gained popularity in India in many forms. While the traditional recipes is followed, there are desi variations with masala, tandoori.
