The lion’s diet is a type of elimination diet.
It focuses on eating only meat from certain animals.
Under the lion diet, you can consume only beef, lamb, goat, elk, bison and deer, along with salt and water.
You must restrict poultry, pork, fish or seafood, eggs, dairy, fruits, and vegetables.
You must also avoid grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, oils and fats, supplements, and beverages other than water.
The lion’s diet intends to eliminate foods that may cause inflammation, fatigue, and digestive problems.
Some studies suggest it could be effective for conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome and food allergies.
But the lion’s diet is extremely restrictive and lacks many essential vitamins and minerals.
Animal products, including meat, are high in saturated fat, which can increase bad cholesterol.
The lion’s diet is difficult to follow and unsustainable in the long term.
