Kerala tourism: What to look forward to in February?

February has quite a few cultural events in store for Kerala travellers.

Nishagandhi Dance and Music Festival

It will be held at Nishagandhi open-air theatre and Kanakakkunnu Palace grounds. The fest, which offers free entry, is from February 14 to 21.

Machad Mamangam

A centuries-old temple festival held in Machad Thiruvanikavu Temple of Thrissur, visitors get to enjoy unique rituals, elephants and percussion here. It will be held on February 17.

Chettikulangara Bharani

Yet another centuries-old renowned temple festival, held at the Chettikulangara Bhagavathy Temple of Alappuzha, its highlights are massive structures and rituals. It's scheduled for February 23.

Uthralikkavu Pooram

A festival famous for its chenda percussion display, it's held in Thrissur's Wadakkanchery, at the Sree Ruthira Mahakalikavu Temple on February 24.

Guruvayur Anayottam

Love elephants? A ceremonial race for jumbos, this is the opening event for the Guruvayur Temple Festival. The anayottam is on February 28, and the temple fest is till March 9, at the Guruvayur Sree K
