S-400 Sudarshan Chakra

India’s most advanced long-range air defence system, sourced from Russia. It can track and destroy aircraft, drones, and ballistic missiles up to 400 km away.

Akash Missile System

An indigenously developed medium-range surface-to-air missile system by DRDO, designed to engage multiple aerial threats up to 25–30 km range.

Barak-8 (LR-SAM)

A joint India-Israel missile system used by the Indian Navy, Army, and Air Force. It can intercept aircraft and missiles up to 70–100 km, depending on the variant.

Spyder System

A quick-reaction surface-to-air missile system from Israel, capable of neutralizing aircraft, UAVs, and precision-guided munitions within a 15–20 km radius.

Pechora Missile System

The Pechora is a Soviet-era surface-to-air missile system used by the Indian Air Force, with a 35 km range, effective against aircraft and cruise missiles at low to medium altitudes.

Indigenous Systems

India is developing short-range interception systems similar to Israel’s Iron Dome to protect against drones, rockets, and low-flying threats, especially along border zones.
