Tomatoes are perfect for compact spaces like balconies or terraces.
For container gardening, go for Cherry tomatoes or Desi bush hybrids.
Select a 12-inch wide pot with proper drainage holes. This gives the roots enough room to spread.
Combine coco peat, compost, and garden soil or sand to prepare your mix.
Plant 2–3 seeds in a pot or purchase good seedlings for quicker and easier balcony gardening.
When transplanting seedlings, bury them a bit deeper.
Make sure your plants get 6–8 hours of direct sunlight every day for the best yield.
Water your plants in the morning so the leaves dry by evening. This helps prevent rot and fungal issues.
As your plants grow, support them with stakes or cages to keep them upright.
Always be on the lookout for pests. Spray neem oil or a mild soapy water solution to keep them away.
