She was born on November 15, 1990, in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, to Lokendra Singh Chahar and Pushpa Chahar. She is also the elder sister of criocketer Deepak Chahar.
She completed hert schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Agra and later graduated as a software engineer from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow.
In 2009, she won the title of Miss India Earth. Later, she earned the title of Miss Photogenic at Femina Miss India Delhi 2014 and was a finalist in Femina Miss India 2014.
Malti Chahar made her acting debut in the short film Manicure (2017).
She also appeared in Anil Sharma directorial Genius alongside Mithun Chakraborty and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Beside acting, she wrote and directed short films like 7 Phere: A Dream Housewife and O Maaeri.maltichahar
