Fun without a phone?

Handling a toddler can feel challenging at times. The easiest solution often seems to be handing them a mobile to watch cartoons, but this can slowly lead to screen addiction. Here are 8 fun

Simple science experiments

If, from a young age, kids are encouraged to learn by experimenting, they’ll become curious to learn instead of just mugging up. Try easy experiments like vinegar and baking soda volcanoes.

Detective activities

Create simple scavenger hunts around the house with small prizes to keep kids curious and moving.

Helping in the kitchen or garden

Involve kids in creating things on their own from scratch, be it planting a tree or taking care of a bird. It'll create a sense of responsibility, and they’ll be involved in something productive

Getting a book club membership

Take a subscription to book clubs and introduce your kid to different genres and fellow readers. Joining a library or book club can nurture a reading habit and expand vocabulary

Storytelling sessions

Kids love attention and when they experience something new every day, they have a lot to tell. Encourage them to tell their own stories, either aloud or by drawing storyboards.

'Use nature and earn' game

Give your kids tasks where they can use natural ingredients to make something useful and sell it to family members. It’ll enhance their imagination and help them learn how to pitch their own product.

Board games and puzzles

Board games like Monopoly, Scrabble, or Pictionary encourage family interaction, strategic thinking, and social skills while diverting attention from screens.

Lost and found in nature

At least once a week, plan activities like hiking, camping, or birdwatching. Exploring nature teaches them appreciation and shows how many things are waiting for our attention beyond the mobile screen
