India and England are set to clash in a high-stakes five-match Test series, and individual matchups could play a decisive role.
Mohammed Siraj, back after missing the Champions Trophy, will look to repeat his past success in England, with Harry Brook likely in his sights.
Arguably the series’ most crucial battle. Joe Root, in sublime Test form over the last few years, will go up against Jasprit Bumrah, who remains India’s bowling spearhead.
Expect fireworks when aggressive wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant faces off against spinner Shoaib Bashir. Pant has a strong record in English conditions.
Expected to open alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rahul must counter the new ball threat, particularly from pacer Brydon Carse. A solid start from Rahul would give India early control.
Leading India for the first time in Tests, Shubman Gill will bat at No. 4 and anchor a relatively young middle order. He’ll be tested by Jamie Overton.
These contests promise plenty of drama and will be central to how the series unfolds.
