Kane Williamson RULED Out: Williamson suffered a hamstring injury during the second T20 match at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Sunday. Tim Southee took over the captaincy after Williamson left the field due to injury.

Hamilton: New Zealand has taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20 series against Pakistan by winning the first two matches. Kiwi team defeated Pakistan team by 21 runs in the second match. In this match, captain Kane Williamson got injured after scoring 26 runs and then he had to retire hurt. Williamson did not come to bat after this. Meanwhile, news is now coming that he has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the series.

Saudi will now continue to captain the team in the next three matches. New Zealand's head Gary Stead told that Williamson will not play in the next three matches. Will Young has been included in the team in his place while Tim Seifert can be given a chance in the playing XI.

Gary Stead said, 'The Test match is so close and that is part of our bigger scheme. In such a short time and with high priority, I think we will try to get him fit for this.

Williamson returned to cricket just before the ODI World Cup 2023. He got injured while playing against Chennai Super Kings in the first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and after that he stayed away from cricket for a few months. Williamson will now be scanned on Monday and after that a decision will be taken regarding his playing in the upcoming matches.

Talking about the second T20 match, despite the stormy innings of former captain Babar Azam (66) and Fakhar Zaman (50), Pakistan had to face defeat by 21 runs. With this victory, host New Zealand took a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20 series.

Batting first after losing the toss, the Kiwi team scored 194 runs for 8 wickets and then restricted Pakistan to 173 runs in 19.3 overs. Pakistan's batsmen played 44 dot balls, which was a major reason for their defeat. The Kiwi team also won the first match by 46 runs and the third match will be held on Wednesday.
