Brook's absence is a big blow for England. Since making his Test debut in September 2022, the 24-year-old has played many brilliant innings and has been an integral part of England's baseball cricket. So far, he has scored 1181 runs in just 12 matches in his Test career, which is the most runs by an England batsman during this period. During this period he scored four centuries and seven half-centuries. His performances led Stokes to call him the next Virat Kohli in world cricket.

Harry Brook’s replacement for Test series against India

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Sunday that Harry Brook will not play in the five-match Test series against India and middle-order batsman Dan Lawrence has been included in his place. Brooke will return home immediately due to personal reasons. The ECB said that 26-year-old Dan Lawrence Lawrence from Surrey will join the team on Monday in place of Brook and go to India for the series starting in Hyderabad from Thursday. Before the start of the Test series against India, England are practicing in Indian conditions in Abu Dhabi.

Dan Lawrence, who was included in the team, has scored 551 runs in 11 matches with four half-centuries. However, choosing Lawrence is a bit surprising decision because he played his last Test against West Indies in March 2022. Lawrence has not yet been able to score a century in the biggest format of cricket. However, he has definitely scored four half-centuries. However, this player's record in first class cricket is excellent. He has scored 6360 runs in 191 innings of 118 first class matches at an average of 36.34. During this period, he has also scored 15 centuries and 29 half-centuries.
