The report said that the company has fired 87 people who worked at a secret location in the Next Generation Screen Development Program and people who were part of the company's car project. According to California rules, every decision that affects employees must be reported to the employment department.

2000 employees affected by closure of project

According to the report, 371 employees at Apple's main car-related office in Santa Clara, California, and several other satellite offices have also been laid off. At the same time, many people have been transferred to the Artificial Intelligence and Personal Robotics department of the company. About 2000 employees have been affected by the closure of these projects.

Apple worked for 10 years but could not even make a prototype of the car.

Recently Apple has closed its 10 year old car project. The company invested billions of dollars in this project in the last decade, but could not even prepare a physical prototype in that time.

Apple wanted to make a car that would run on voice commands

The company wanted to make a car that would be completely automatic and run on voice commands. For this, billions of dollars had been invested in this project which started in 2015. If this project had been successful, the company could have launched the car by 2028 at a price of one lakh dollars (about Rs 82.90 lakh).

CEO Tim Cook was under pressure to close the project

Apple had rescheduled the launch date of its first EV to 2019, 2020, 2026 and 2028. According to the report, the company's board was also putting pressure on CEO Tim Cook to prepare a concrete plan on the project soon or to close the project.
